What have you been hoping and praying for? Has it happened yet? if it hasn't, why not? What could be the problem? Is your prayer for whatever within the will of God for your life? Do you or did you have even a little bit of doubt that your prayer will be answered? What part were you to play in the prayer request...Did you ask for whatever in faith? These are some of the questions you have to answer when seeking something from the Lord. Mere belief or intellectual agreement with God is useless unless it is actively demonstrated through good deeds, love and obedience. James 2:14-26 summarizes that as the body without the spirit is dead, faith without works is dead also. A passive inactive faith is like a lifeless corpse. True living faith naturally expresses itself through tangible actions, such as helping those in need. Works are the natural fruit and evidence of a transformed heart. James says, what does it profit my brethren if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Abraham was justified by works when he offered his son Isaac on the altar...faith was working together with his works because he believed that God would give his son back alive to him.
So, I ask you, has your heart been transformed from self interest to God interest? Are you doing for others or is it still all about you? We, as humans are all guilty of selfishness until we give our hearts and lives to the Lord. God will not bless our mess!
Where is your faith and your works? when both of these are evident in your life, you will see some of your prayer answered!
